FLOOD SUPPORT PACKAGE SHOULD BE JUST THE BEGINNING - HUHNE

Commenting on the Government's announcement today of the distribution of £8 million of grants to flood-hit local councils, Liberal Democrat Shadow Environment Secretary, Chris Huhne MP said:

"I'm glad the Government is belatedly recognising the seriousness of the problem.

"This needs to be a small first instalment in what is going to have to be a much larger package of support."
